  • Jim Maloway has represented the people of Elmwood both as MLA and Member of Parliament every year since 1986, when he was first elected to the Manitoba Legislative Assembly.

  • Jim has been a successful small business owner since 1978. Between 2008 and 2011, Jim served as Member of Parliament for Elmwood-Transcona.

  • Jim served as Legislative Assistant to the Minister of Finance and will continue to fight to make sure good jobs and strategic investments remain in our community.

Jim Maloway has represented the people of Elmwood both as MLA and Member of Parliament every year since 1986, when he was first elected to the Manitoba Legislative Assembly. Jim has distinguished himself for his eager contributions to legislative debates and his ability to speak knowledgeably on a wide range of important issues that matter to families in his constituency.

Jim has been a successful small business owner since 1978 and pioneered the development of Manitoba’s cutting edge eCommerce legislation. This includes credit card protection for Manitobans making purchases online and the framework that allows the Manitoba government to provide online services to businesses and the public. Jim has also served for many years on the Public Accounts Committee, helping the province review the best ideas from other jurisdictions and make government more efficient.

Between 2008 and 2011, Jim served as Member of Parliament for Elmwood-Transcona. As an MP, Jim introduced Canada’s first air passenger bill of rights, which directly resulted in the airline industry itself adopting many of the provisions of the bill.

When he returned to the Manitoba Legislature, Jim served as Legislative Assistant to the Minister of Finance and has continued his advocacy for consumer rights. As MLA for Elmwood, Jim will continue to fight to ensure jobs remain in our community.
